HERE (GoPro3D)
3D360 video camera with world least number of lenses
Camera : 4xGoPro3 with modified lenses of f=1.4 mm, FOV=183 deg
・ Circular fish eye images shot at 1920x1440p48, wide mode
・ Total FOV is 732°=203.3% of 360°x 2, only 3.3% overlap for stitching
・ Effective stereobase is about 65 mm, same as human interocular distance
・ Stitched with special 3D masking method on PTGui and rendered on VS and/or AVP
・ Resultant 3D360 video resolution is about 2.7k x 1.35k.
4. 360Video Rendering
・Using Video Stitch by directly applying of PTGui calibration
- PTGui Masking can be transferred to VS accurately
- Stitching differs slightly, not exact to the PTGui calibration, but acceptable.
- VS Blending and Exposure needs to be improved which differs significantly.
・Using Kolor AVP and APG
- PTGui calibration can not be applied so far due to no support of this type of
masking in APG
- YPR animation and Stabilization capability is desired to be utilized in this work flow
5. Summary of advantage of the 3D360 video work flow
・Merit of common stitch with all of input videos, 4 in this particular case and the masking.
- Robust stitching due to the abundant overlaps, even in the case that there is not
enough overlaps with L and R camera pairs, 2 in this particular case.
- The concept of common stitch and the masking flow can be applied to all configuration
of the 3D360 Rigs any radial type more than 4 cams.
- The concept of common stitch and masking flow can be applied to the conventional multiple
twin SBS pairs configuration, where the pseudo stereoscopic parts must be flipped in the
post processing.
・ The most cumbersome process in 3D edition maybe eliminating vertical misalignment in L and R,
especially in 360 panorama there is little freedom to deform the images for alignment. Fortunately
it is not required in this flow, I think this is the most remarkable advantage of this method.
