I was looking for a shortcut to get up on the ridge to the Buzzard Peak Trail (Road) from the south side.
I was only able to climb up the steep hillside above the end of E Fort Bowie Dr, until it felt too unsafe for my hiking courage.
Here's the sight and sounds from my final vantage point. The trail is somewhere up there on top of the ridge.
Looks like next time I better stick with a north approach:
