VQMT3D (Video Quality Measurement Tool 3D) project was created to improve stereoscopic films. Our aim is to help filmmakers produce high-quality 3D video by finding inexpensive ways of automatically enhancing film quality.
(more details...)
VQMT3D project is currently being developed. On this page we will collect recent information about the project.
Graphics & Media Lab has published Report #5 with analysis of 2D-to-3D converted movies quality. The previous reports have already provoked much interest and discussion among professional stereographers and filmmakers.
In Report #5 we evaluated the following films:
- The Avengers (2012)
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)
- Gulliver's Travels (2010)
- Immortals (2011)
- Wrath of the Titans (2012)
Overall evaluation results
In this section we present selected overall comparison charts. We use two main types of charts:
Dot chart which depicts average score of each film according to the metric
Integral histogram which shows distribution of metric values throughout the film
Please, read more about the charts and particular films in the
report.
