 “Russia in the Baltics” a media project of the World Ocean Museum and the Russian Geographical Society about the history, places of interest and nature of the Baltic Sea, won the “Crystal Compass” National Prize. The movie is prepared in 3D and allows making a “journey in space and time” through the Baltic region from Kaliningrad to St. Petersburg. An interactive 5D cabin creating the illusion of a 3D image and flying is used for the virtual journey. Triaxes company in cooperation with the World Ocean Museum (Kaliningrad, Russia) and its partners shot some of the scenes, performed film editing, dubbing and 3D convertion. This year “Crystal Compass” got applications for participation from 68 regions of Russia, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Monaco, Norway and the USA. 389 projects and achievements competed for the prestigious award, which is an absolute record in the history of the National prize.
Among the favourites for the “geographical Oscar”: an aerostat round-the-world trip of the legendary Fedor Konyukhov; environmental initiatives of Monaco’s reigning Primce Albert II; unique 3D system creation of the Unesco World Heritage Site, Archaeological monuments of Palmira, in Syria by the group of Russian scientists of the Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences and so on. source: triaxes.com | www.world-ocean.ru/en/ |
