The story of Eric Barone, speed bike world recordman.
STORYLINE
BEYOND THE RECORD is the portrait of Éric Barone, an unusual athlete and speed world record owner in mountain bike. In 2000, on a prototype bike, he reaches 222,22 km per hour in less than 15 seconds on the Olympic speed track in Les Arcs. After this successful process he started several years before, Éric Barone decided to end it two years later. He moved back to his hometown with his family, still being the specialist of this activity.
In 2012, to his family and friends surprise, he decided to try to break his speed world record. Did he imagine at that time, at the age of 52 and after a 10 years break, that he would embark so many people with him in this exceptional adventure still going on in 2015? For money? For glory? Nothing is less sure. With this spectacular come back, BEYOND THE RECORD brings the spectator into the backstage of this human challenge through the eyes of Éric but mostly his circle and family. They are the essential narrators of his life journey, witnesses of the past or present characters.
