Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (2009)
Disney's second teen-pop 3D concert film of 2009, again shot natively with 3ality's multi-rig setup.
Overview
Filmed during the Jonas Brothers' World Tour, the film intercuts full-length live performances with backstage material, structured as a direct-to-3D theatrical event rather than a converted concert broadcast.
Native Stereoscopic Technique
The production used a similar multi-camera stereo array to Hannah Montana's concert film, released the same year, with 3ality Digital handling live stereo convergence adjustments on the fly across a moving stage show.
Because Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience was captured with a genuine dual-camera or beam-splitter rig rather than converted from 2D footage after the fact, its sense of depth is derived from real parallax recorded on set — the same principle behind human binocular vision, where two slightly offset viewpoints are reconciled by the brain into a single three-dimensional image. The 3ality setup used here reflects the state of stereoscopic camera engineering available at the time of production, a factor that shaped everything from shot length to how close the camera could get to the action.
Legacy & Reception
Together with its Hannah Montana counterpart, it demonstrated that Disney saw native 3D as a repeatable release strategy for its teen-idol properties, not a one-off experiment.
